More than 40 Airlines,
including Cyprus Airways, operate scheduled flights from and
to Larnaka
International Airport (5 km from Larnaka town centre),
and Pafos
International Airport (15 km east of Pafos town).
Getting to Cyprus is easier than you may think. From major
cities in USA (New York, Boston, Washington, Miami, Chicago,
Los Angeles, San Francisco etc) and Canada (Montreal, Toronto,
Vancouver) travelers can make easy connections through any
number of European gateways: London, Amsterdam, Athens, Paris,
Rome, Zurich, Vienna or Frankfurt, to name the more popular
among them.
There are daily connections through London all year round
from USA and Canada with American Airlines, United Airlines,
Continental, Air Canada etc and Cyprus Airways. You can choose
your favourite airlines and find a cheap flight to Larnaca or Paphos in Cyprus.
Since most tickets allow for stopovers, this creates for a
unique two-prong vacation that combines a European component
with Cyprus. Olympic
Airways, British Airways, KLM, Lufthansa, Alitalia, Air Malta,
LTU, Finn Air, Austrian Airlines, Eurocypria Airlines, Slovak
Airlines, Czech Airlines, Hemus Air, Helios Airways, First
Choice Airways, Jat Airways, Malev Hungarian Airlines, Tarom
Romanian Air all allow ticketing directly to Larnaka airport
in Cyprus with minimal connection times, but check with your
favorite airline for up to date information.
In addition, if you are already in a major European or Middle
Eastern gateway city, chances are that Cyprus
Airways can fly you from that gateway to Cyprus.
As the crossroads of the Eastern Mediterranean, Cyprus can
also be a great component of a Middle East odyssey that combines
a visit to Cyprus with Israel, Egypt, Lebanon or Greek
Islands such as Rhodes. Short cruises to these destinations
are a popular option for many visitors of Cyprus.
Visitors from Australia, New Zealand, Japan and South East
Asian countries may travel to Cyprus with convenient connections
from the Arabian Gulf area, through Bahrain (Gulf Air) or
Dubai (Emirates). Alternatively, there are frequent connections
from the major European gateways and the Middle Eastern countries,
like from Egypt (Egypt Air, Lebanon (Middle East Airlines),
Israel (El Al Airlines), Iran (Iran Air) or Jordan (Royal
Jordanian). The region of Russia is connected via Aeroflot
Russian Airlines.
For the time being there is no ferry boat connection between Cyprus and other countries. There are however, cruises from Cyprus to Lebanon, Syria, Egypt, Greece and the Greek Islands.
